Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-12
These terms form the agreement between you and the provider of 12inf when you use the website at 12inf.ai, its free resources, or the 12inf Workspace. Please read them before you sign up or pay. By creating an account or buying a plan, you accept them.
1. Who we are
12inf is an investor research service. Contact us at [email protected] ("12inf", "we", "us").
2. Who these terms are for
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account or buy a plan.
Some of the protections below apply only if you are a consumer, meaning an individual acting mainly outside a trade, business, craft or profession. If you use 12inf for your company or professional activity, you act as a business user, and the sections marked for consumers do not apply to you.
If you use 12inf on behalf of a company, you confirm that you may bind it to these terms.
3. What 12inf does
12inf is an investor research service for startup founders. You give us your company website, a short description and, if you want, a pitch deck or document (PDF, PPTX, TXT or MD, up to 10 MB). From these, the service:
- builds a search brief that describes your company and round;
- produces an investor shortlist from our catalog, with the evidence and reasons behind each match.
Your account includes Investor Search: briefs, shortlists, saved searches and saved investors. Any additional features are available only when shown as included in your plan.
The site also offers free articles, resources and downloadable templates and skills.
Investor profiles are compiled from publicly available sources. We do our best to keep them current, but they can be out of date or incomplete.
We may improve, change or remove features over time. If a change materially reduces a paid feature you rely on during a period you have already paid for, we will tell you in advance and, if you are a consumer, you may end the contract and receive a proportionate refund for the unused period where the law provides for it.
4. Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that mailbox secure. Activity under your account is treated as yours.
- Give us accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
- One account is for one person. Do not share sign-in codes or let others use your account.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
5. Plans, credits and the intro offer
5.1 Plans
12inf is sold by subscription only. The plans are Launch, Raise and Scale, each available with monthly, quarterly or yearly billing. The current features, allowances and prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout before you pay. The price shown at checkout is the price you agree to.
Quarterly and yearly plans are paid upfront for the whole period.
5.2 Credits
Your plan includes investor credits. A credit is used when an investor profile is delivered to you in your results, as explained on the pricing page. Opening the same investor again does not use another credit. Credits refresh monthly while your subscription is active, including on quarterly and yearly plans. Unused credits do not carry over to the next month and have no cash value. Credits cannot be transferred or sold. We do not sell additional credits outside a subscription.
5.3 Intro offer: $1 for 3 days
Where offered, you can start a plan with a $1 access fee that gives you 3 days of access and 15 credits.
- When the 3 days end, your chosen plan starts automatically at the full price and billing interval you selected at checkout, and you will be charged unless you cancel before the 3 days end.
- The intro is available once per person.
- The $1 access fee is non-refundable once your access has started, subject to section 7 for consumers.
5.4 Prices, taxes and currency
Prices are shown in US dollars and include taxes. Applicable taxes are calculated at checkout. Your bank may charge currency conversion or foreign transaction fees, which are outside our control.
5.5 Payment and renewal
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Each plan renews automatically for the same billing interval. If a payment fails, we may retry it, and we may pause paid features until payment succeeds.
5.6 Price changes
We may change our prices for future billing periods. We will give you reasonable advance notice by email before a new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel before the change takes effect. If you do nothing, the new price applies from your next renewal.
6. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel at any time in the Stripe customer portal, which you reach from your account's billing page. Cancellation stops future renewals.
- After cancelling you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Credits remaining at that point expire.
- Refunds. Except as set out in section 7 (consumer right of withdrawal), in section 3 (material changes), or where the law otherwise requires, payments are non-refundable and we do not refund unused time or unused credits.
- If something has gone wrong with a charge, write to [email protected]. We will look at it.
7. Right of withdrawal (consumers only)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of entering it, without giving a reason.
Because 12inf is a digital service that you can use immediately, at checkout we ask you to:
- expressly request that we start providing the service during the 14-day withdrawal period; and
- acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal for digital content delivered to you (such as investor profiles that are unlocked in your results) once its supply has begun, and that you lose it for the service once the service has been fully provided.
What this means in practice:
- If you withdraw within 14 days, we will refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the moment you told us you were withdrawing, including content already delivered to you.
- The $1 intro access is a short service that is fully provided within 3 days. Once those 3 days have been provided at your express request, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to it.
- We will refund using the payment method you used, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, at no extra cost to you.
How to withdraw. Send a clear statement to [email protected] before the 14 days end. You may use this model form, but you do not have to:
To 12inf, [email protected]: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: 12inf [plan name]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Account email: [your email]. Date: [date]. Signature (only if sent on paper).
Cancelling a renewal in the Stripe portal is not, by itself, a notice of withdrawal. If you want to withdraw, tell us.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload materials you do not have the right to share, or that contain malware;
- upload other people's personal data beyond what is reasonably needed to describe your company and team;
- use 12inf to send spam or bulk unsolicited messages to investors, or contact investors in a way that breaks anti-spam, privacy or data protection laws;
- copy, scrape, download in bulk, resell, publish or build a competing database from the investor catalog or our outputs;
- share your account, or resell or sublicense access to 12inf;
- try to get around credit limits, plan limits or payment;
- probe, overload or disrupt our systems, or bypass security or access controls;
- reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- use 12inf for anything illegal, deceptive or harmful, including misrepresenting your company to investors.
Your responsibility when contacting investors. You decide whether and how to contact any investor. When you do, you are responsible for following the laws that apply to that contact, including data protection and electronic marketing rules.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload or enter, including your website text, descriptions, decks and notes ("your content").
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, analyse and transform your content only as needed to provide 12inf to you, to keep it secure, and to meet our legal obligations. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems, apart from copies we must keep by law or that remain in backups until they are overwritten.
We will not:
- use your content to train AI models, or allow our providers to do so;
- use your content to add to, enrich or correct the public investor catalog;
- share your content with investors or other users;
- publish your content.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to give us this licence and that your content does not infringe anyone else's rights. How we treat personal data in your content is explained in our Privacy Policy.
10. AI output
12inf uses AI models to create briefs, match explanations, deck reviews and preparation material. You should know that:
- Output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check important facts, including investor details, before relying on them.
- It is not advice. Nothing in 12inf is investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy or sell securities. Speak to a qualified professional before making decisions on your fundraising, company structure or securities.
- No guarantee of results. We do not guarantee that you will raise money, get a meeting, receive a reply or be introduced to anyone. We do not make introductions on your behalf and do not act as a broker, placement agent or intermediary.
- No endorsement. An investor appearing in your shortlist does not mean the investor knows about 12inf, endorses us or is interested in your company.
As between you and us, you may use the outputs created for you for your own fundraising. Similar outputs may be generated for other users.
11. Our intellectual property
12inf, including its software, design, text, the investor catalog as a database, and the 12inf name and marks, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws, including database rights.
We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use 12inf under these terms while your account is active. Templates and skills offered for download may be used for your own work; they may not be resold or redistributed as a product unless the download page says otherwise.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
12. Availability
We work to keep 12inf available and reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, which we will try to schedule to limit disruption. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
If you are a consumer, the statutory legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services under Spanish consumer law applies, and nothing in these terms reduces it.
13. Liability
For everyone. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
If you are a consumer. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, and we are not responsible for business losses (such as lost profits, lost funding opportunities or lost business). Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
If you are a business user. To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, funding, business opportunity, goodwill or data;
- our total liability arising from or relating to 12inf in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us for 12inf in those 12 months.
Business users agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and costs arising from claims by third parties caused by your breach of section 8 or your content infringing someone else's rights.
14. Suspension and termination
By you. You can stop using 12inf at any time, cancel your subscription in the Stripe portal, and delete your account from your account settings.
By us. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, fail to pay, use 12inf illegally or in a way that puts the service or other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your account without a breach on your part, we will refund any prepaid amount for the unused period.
We may also stop offering 12inf altogether. If so, we will give you reasonable advance notice and refund any prepaid amount for the period after the service ends.
After termination, your right to use 12inf ends. We delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should continue (including 9, 10, 11, 13 and 16) continue to apply.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we change the service or the law changes. We will give you reasonable notice of material changes by email or in the product, before they apply to existing subscriptions. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. Continuing to use 12inf after that date means you accept the updated terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law.
- Consumers can bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence, and keep any mandatory protection given by the law of the country where they live.
- Business users agree that the courts of Madrid, Spain have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before going to court, please contact us at [email protected]; most issues can be solved quickly. Consumers resident in Spain may also contact the consumer arbitration system (Sistema Arbitral de Consumo) or their regional consumer office.
17. General
- These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie and Storage Policy and the details shown at checkout, form the whole agreement between us about 12inf.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a successor of the business, and will tell you if we do; this will not reduce your rights.
- These terms are written in English.
